I have been on the pill for about 3 years. I reacently stopped taking them because I misplaced the new package and can't start a new one until the end of my next cycle. (i was suppose to start a whole new pack) I was wondering what the side effect are of stopping. My nipples are extreamly sore. It hurts to even have clothing rub on them. I have also had some weird discharge, nausia and cramping. Is this normal or could it be something else?. I went off the pill for a month one other time and didn't have any symptoms. I am currently halfway through my cycle. I usually have little to no PMS symptoms. I have had s*x since stopping the pills but we used condoms. I am positive it's not any type of STD. Could it be preganancy or something else?

  1. I had exactly the same symptoms as you when I came off the pill. It settled down a few months after, but obviously, you are going back on so it may be different for you. If you think about it, it's obvious: the pill is hormone, so by not taking it, you are changing the levels of different hormones in your body. Stands to reason you're going to get a few side-effects. It's perfectly normal though and nothing to worry about. :)
