  1. I think you are short sighted~

when you feel dizzy does your eyes go all blank and dark?? cause in that case you will need to find a docter

but i really don't think you've got really bad eyes, maybe it's just got slightly bad eyes from my experience of wearing glasses for 5 years~

  2. It sounds like it.  At the very least you need a check.

One way to break the subject would be, when out together, to pick something you can't quite see (a car numberplate or billboard), and ask her if she can read it...

Teenagers should be on a routine check at least every two years, really every year, because their eyes are so likely to change.

  3. I would say get it checked out.  I've worn glasses/contacts for years and I know that if I'm not wearing them and try to squint to see things, I get real bad headaches.  It's not a huge deal, I don't think glasses carry the "4 eyes" stigma that they used to when I was little, they're all hip and whatever now and contacts are cheap and convenient too.  Better to be safe then sorry (as your Mom would probably say)

  4. yes I think you are part blind on one eye or maybe both. You should use your hand to block one eye and see if you can see with the other. If its just one eye you can get contacts but takes like 5 minutes but when you get the hang of it then it would be like 10 seconds. But you should get glasses if you don't want to do that. Also you can't even feel the contacts in your eye

  5. I wear glasses and I know when I take them off everything is a blur. If you can't read from 10 feet away then yes you need glasses or contacts. I would just come out with it and tell your mother you need glasses (or contacts).

  6. It does sound like it, yes.

And just tell her! Tell her the problems you've been having and just go get it checked. No big deal. It'll prevent further vision loss and stop horrible things that come from squinting, like headaches and (premature) wrinkles around the eyes.

  7. I think if you are squinting, you should probably get your eyes checked. It sounds like you do need them.

  8. You can't go up to your mom and ask her to take you to the eye doctor?  Seems like you have bigger problems on your hands...

  9. I'm sorry if you're not the type of person who asks for help from her mother, but unless you can get to the optometrist yourself, you're going to have to do it. Honestly, what's the worst that could happen from your going up to your mom and saying you need glasses?

If you need a script, try, "Hi Mom, remember when you said that maybe we should get my eyes checked? Well, I have trouble reading things that are far away. The television is blurry when it's only 10 feet away. I think I might need glasses."
