Question:

Are these signs of a fraudulent psychic?

For fun, I had a little bit of money to spend on some online psychics for the thrill......I noticed that a lot of Kasamba's/Liveperson's psychics type slow, can't spell properly, or are very vague..like saying "your future mate is going to be a good man." Um, can you be more specific? I noticed that some psychics on kasamba are very peculiar about their rating and call you out if you give them a 4/5.

I think all of these signs are indicative that the psychic isn't real?

If you have experience with psychics, what do you think?

I know there are some REAL psychics, but they are few and it seems like the way how they act or talk reveals how genuine they are.

  1. The goal of the online psychic is to give you just enough information; something good is going to happen or something bad is on the way, to keep you coming back and keep paying.  If the prediction is general enough then there is a high probability that it will be right or that you can make it fit.  You can't live your life based on the information from psychics.

  2. Did you know that the government was hiring people to pretend to be psychics to bring in some extra cash for state governments?  It's true, I saw it on 60 minutes a few years ago.  They just taught them how to sound kinda convincing without actually telling you anything.  It's called cold reading; just making up stuff that probably applies to pretty much everyone and paying attention to your responses to see what to say next.

Like the first guy said, if you ever find a real psychic, let someone know.  Because there are plenty of scientists out there that would love to finally be able to show they were right about the paranormal all along and shut up us skeptics.

  3. If you ever find a real psychic, please let me know.

  4. psychics are human too!  but, i don't think i would ever use an online psychic myself.   i would say, seek out a spiritualist church and find a person who has a gift of the spirit.

  5. Real psychics? Where? When one these manages to win the James Randi Challenge million dollar prize, then there MAY such things as psychic ability. If so, that will destroy all the laws of physics. Also the Nobel Prize would be a cinch.

It seems clear that psychics can be explained in one of three ways: (1) they truly are psychic; (2) they are frauds, taking advantage of people's gullibility and weaknesses; or (3) they're deluded and self-deceived. Of the three options, the least probable is option number one.

  6. O.K. Here is a simple test.

If someone is claiming to be psychic and is asking money for it, they are simply fraudulent scammers.

If someone claims to be a REAL psychic then they are delusional.

It is one of those two options or even a mixture of both, but there no other options in reality.

There exists no such person, thus why there is still a million dollar prize that lays unclaimed for anyone whom posses such abilities.

  7. Depends if you are looking for a psychic or a medium. Everyone is psychic to some degree. Most people want to know something of their future, generally if they'll meet a soulmate. These are the people who usually go to psychics or ring psychic lines. I wouldn't touch any of them with a bargepole.

Now if you have lost a loved one and seeking a medium, that's a whole different kettle of fish. I would always advise people to go to a spiritualist church where they will be helped to speak to a medium.

The only proof is individual experience of mediumship or the results of mediumship. A cynic I am and always will be, and advise everyone to be until they themselves are satisfied with what they are being presented with.

Not everyone can see John Edward or Colin Fry, but there are a host of mediums with the same gift. You don't have to become a regular of a spiritualist church, just drop in to talk to someone about their mediums. Not every medium calls themselves a spiritualist, many are of religious faiths and many not.

  8. it is all a scam.....

  9. as a psychic I'd say yes... she should be able to give you some more details. the general sense of what he looks like, when you'll meet him approximately, if he's in your life already, how you'll meet him. If she isn't getting anything, she should say so. If get nothing when I'm doing a reading for someone (I don't charge people, for the record), I tell them so. I simply say, "I'm sorry, but I'm drawing a complete blank" or if what I'm getting is a very vague feeling, I tell them so. Often when I draw a blank on something its because they're not to know the specifics, and I tell them so. sometimes when I get a vague feeling, it makes no sense to me, but means something to the person involved. Some people don't trust this and won't tell you. A good psychic gives what she gets, whether she understands it or not, is open and honest.

Trust your gut. If they hassle you about the rating, that throws up HUGE red flags for me. I don't give readings to get a good review, so that people will pass on the information. I do it to help people. And that's the key I think--do you get the sense she really cares? Or is just making a buck off of you?

Just my two cents. Peace and love to you.
