Question:

Are these situations Deja Vu?

I am no expert in the field, but i know some of the basics. So here is the situation, or situations, seeing as two seperate things happened today:

Last night, i had a dream. In this dream, my cat got injured after he tripped and fell of a high surface in the kitchen, inhuring his leg severely and we took him to the vets - where he was later put to sleep. It saddened me incredibly, and i woke up feeling miserable, upset and emotional. Earlier today, i noticed my cat trying to jump on the very same surface he fell off in my dream. I remembered what i saw, and stopped him from doing it in fear that what i saw might actually come true. Is this Deja Vu?

Secondly, i was with my friend today and we were in town. For some reason, and i have no explanation why, but i felt very un-easy and worried that something would happen to him if we went down this particular road. I do not know what on Earth was making me think this, but i felt it and after the cat situation, i forced him to go down another road. Later on today, i found out that two cars had collided with each other and one of the drivers was severely injured - on the road we both avoided walking along...

Like i said, i am no expert in Deja Vu or anything alike. But, i am a big believer in the subject, as well as fate and destiny. I would just like a little bit of discussion, and you can share your own stories if you like as well. :D

  1. Not deja vu as much as a form of precognition, having a feeling for, or experiencing something in a dream, waking or not, that "something" will happen.

  2. No, Deja Vu comes from the french meaning "Already seen".

Usually you suddenly feel like you've seen exactly what was in front of you or you feel like you're doing something you've already done, but you realize it hasn't happened or you are unsure of when it happened & can't remember.

The dream of your cat COULD have been Deja Vu, but usually you do not know you've dreamt about it & it would have to be the same exact position with you & your cat with the same lighting & everything.

The road one is definitely not Deja Vu unless you had a feeling you drove there before. You just had a premonition, the feeling that something bad were to happen (& you later found out that something bad DID happen).

A lot of this stuff happens to people, but maybe if it happens more often you will discover you have some sort of gift to detect something bad before it happens :)

The dream reminds me of a time when I was very young & I just had a random dream about my cousins aunt. At the time, I did not ever meet her & had no idea who she looked like, but I saw her face in my dream & I just automatically knew who she was. The next day, she came to my house to pick up my cousin. It was the same girl & I was so shocked that I tried to tell everyone! No one really thought it was unusual though, haha.

My Grandmother once had a dream about my uncles girlfriend who she didn't meet yet. She called my uncle just to talk to him when he brought up his girlfriend. She mentioned the dream & gives him all the details about what the dream made her look like. Even down to the type of glasses she was wearing. My uncle was completely shocked & said that was a perfect description.

The premonition you had reminds me of a time after I had iceskating lessons. A hockey game started on the rink & my cousin, mom, & aunt all sat with me watching the game. For some reason, I got up & moved to the top to see better. Then my mom & cousin joined me while my aunt stayed. I looked down at her & had a horrible gut feeling. I called her name & pleaded that she come sit with us. So she eventually does, but leaves her purse down there. A few minutes later a hockey puck flies at lightening speed right next to her purse where she was sitting. It scared all of us. I could tell something bad was going to happen, but thats probably the last time I've had that feeling.
