my snail has been, what appears to be, laying eggs around the tank.

on the glass, on the rocks, on plants.

i've watched her, and i'm pretty sure they're coming from this snail:

she's small, about a centimeter in length, she's the largest snail in the tank (there's like 12 other small snails).

but the eggs are small too..

they're clear with little white things in them.

here's two more pics:

they've been there for a few days.

are they eggs?

  1. yes they also r going to infest ur tank

  2. That is the common pond snail.  Its' Latin name is physa.  Yes, those are snail eggs in your tank.

If you do not scrape them off and remove them, you will have hundreds of snails in your tank when they hatch.  They are not good for anything except lunch for some yoyo loaches.

This type of snail does not eat any appreciable amount of algae.  All they do is eat up any food missed by your fish and multiply like crazy.

  3. they could be but what other fish do you have in the tank I would get rid of the eggs unless you want hundreds of baby snails

  4. I'm definitely sure that they are snail eggs. to make sure check images in google. they sure do look like your picture.

  5. Yup, snail eggs.

  6. They certainly appear to be eggs. Time will tell!

  7. I'd say definitely yes, they have all the characteristics of snail eggs, I bred snails in school as a project.

  8. They could be eggs!
