  1. Atlanta is definitely the worset, Munich is second only because what happened to those poor Israeli athletes, I'm acutally suprised by tolerance and modesty Chinese government has shown so far, if nothing goes wrong, we can expect Beijing to be the best, and for 2016, the hostility and intolerance shown by Americans is just no good for their chance in that one.

  2. No, all Olympics are the same to me, spectacular as it is. Just that I don't like the games this year in Beijing. The events were done so well, but the spirit of sportsmanship faded. People hitting or hurting people due to dissatisfaction, people dropping medal on the arena due to boycott, and so on and so forth. Where's the spirit of the Olympics, Modern Olympians? If Pierre De Coubertain were alive, he'd sob and weep in front of all of you. Play with dignity for all, not only yourself.

  3. it's c**p!!

like seriously the only good things about it are the watercube and the birdsnest; they're beautiful

like i always love the olympics, ath world championships, swim world championships, commonwealth games

...but beijing has really been sh*t

it's just boring and i really didnt enjoy opening ceremony

like it was impressive and all but really boring

oh and beijing's been c**p because of the environment, like there have been so many problems and so we hear so many negative things...from the athletes themselves so all the claims should be true

china's too worked up about impressing the world

they should get real and just host a good olympics, i think they got too far ahead of themselves

lol i try telling my asian parents this but they're just stuck in thier own little bubble where everything beijing does is amazing and they just say to me stop being so pessimistic towards china, but it's true

and i'm always saying how good sydney was but they're just like well of course you support australia over china

oh and another bad thing is the vibe

in both the athletes and spectator atmosphere there hasnt been the pumped up, party, time of their lives atmosphere we're used to it being

    it's far too proper

  4. WOOT! Sydney 2000 still the best! hehe.

Well, to me at least, Beijing wont beat Sydney, but I was here, I felt the vibe, the excitement - it was so freaking awesome. Its impossible to compare watching it on TV at home to being there - or even watching it on the massive screens they set up throughout Sydney in the parks for everyone to gather and watch if they missed tix. It was fantastic.

Beijing in definitely not the worst. I don't think you can compare a bit of controversy to the terrorist acts that stole and ruined lives in Atlanta and Munich. You gotta have priorities, and what is a gold medal compared to deliberate attacks on life and freedom?

This olympics has had some special moments - but people are allowing it to be overshadowed by a lack of understanding. That is what is ruining these games. Instead of celebrating with Michael Phelps on his success, and with Shawn and Nastia their golds, they are complaining about what they don't have.

These wont be the top for me, but not because of anything the host has done, but because of the complete lack of sportsmanship and the incessant whining of the American Media - but mostly the unprovoked attacks - one on an innocent bystander by a man who clearly needed some help - and the attacks on an innocent judge that was practically instigated by a supposed ex-sportsman, and encouraged by the media.

It has been marred for many, but for me, it is for different reasons. Its the year that everyone was reminded of the real ugly side of sports - poor sportsmanship.

  5. I am not impressed with the olympics, to many commercials

  6. One of the best Olympics ever in my opinion, the opening ceremony was amazing and it has really been obvious that China has the manpower and money to do what they want.

China is winning the medal count, it always has and always will be done off gold medals; I loved how the self-obsessed Americans changed the medal count (golds) they've always used historically to all medals combined so they would be number 1.

  7. tomohawk, you're a dumbass.

  8. These would be some of the better ones if the host country was more fair. The competitions have been brilliant, but the outcome (especially in subjective sports like gymnastics) have been skewed due to the power China has been given.

  9. Worst:

Berlin 1936 - due to their political agenda

Munich 1972 - due to the terrorism that left 11 Israelis dead

Atlanta 1996 - - due to the bombing

    Best:

I'd agree with your first 2 - but if you remember correctly Los Angeles was boycotted by 14? countries in which they had their "Friendship Games"...

3 - I'd almost say Beijing has been good - except for the Gymnastics event. After watching the beam event last night, the bronze was a gift to the chinese from the judges, Russia or Romania was entitled to the bronze for sure

EDIT - A  special thanks to the one who gave me a thumbs down - glad to know you were too spineless to comment on why...

  10. I think it is really one of the worst olympics ever. Chinese judges are ovbiously favoring the chinese athletes. The only good in it is that the U.S leads in the medal count.

  11. no media freedom = no interest

    china = ...

  12. I'd place it 2nd behind Sydney as the best I've seen

    (I've seen all since 1972)

    Great sport.
