  1. Call the Nigerian consulate in New York.

Did you win a "lottery" or have some govt official say they needed your help?

Go to FTC.gov, or just google your situation, probably a scam.

  2. I'm a Nigerian living in NY. The second address is legit but I've never heard of the first. That being said, I would not advice you to partake in any financial transaction over the internet.

You shd be well informed of the different scams on the web. Nonetheless, the fact that there is a high rate of fraud associated with Nigeria does not mean that every thing or everyone in connection with the name Nigeria is a fraudster.

Fraud exists everywhere even in the US.

    Goodluck.

  3. Um... no.  Nigeria is a typical facility for Internet fraud, because they are notorious about not working with international law enforcement, nor would they expedite Charles Manson himself, if he were to move there.

These well may be valid Nigerian addresses, since they need to have a place where you can send them your token money for the millions you will receive in return.

Do not trust any email/internet scheme where you are the recipient of anything over $5, and definitely delete any email with the word Nigeria in it as soon as you can.

  4. Don't know, but simply stating "Nigeria" rings a bell... watch out, you may be defrauded without even knowing it (so be very alert!)
