Are these two names pronounced the same?

Jazlyn & Jaslyn. I'm going to change the spelling of my daughter's middle name. My husband chose it and spelled it. I really dislike the spelling she has now. It's Jazzlynn. It looks so awkward. We had a deal that he could choose and spell her middle name, but now I regret it. Haha. So I'm going to change it legally (Yes, and he is okay with that). Personally, I think the two names are pronounced the same the way they are spelled. I just wanted to get other opinions... Thanks in advance! (=

  1. no i don't think so. one has the z sound, the other has the s sound. if you want to stick to Jazzlyn, go with Jazlyn.

  2. When I read the two names out loud, I pronounced them differently:

Jazlyn = "Jaz-a-lin" (very subtle middle syllable)

Jaslyn = "Jas-lin" (definitely no "z" sound in this one)

Could be a midwest accent coming through =)

  3. Like you, I'd say these two spellings would be pronounced the same. But, if you wish to retain ANY of your hubby's original idea, go with Jazlyn... good luck!

  4. I would pronounce them same

  5. I like Jaslyn. The Z's look so harsh.

  6. i like jaslyn, but it depends on what the first name is too.
