I want to put a design on a t-shirt, but I want a do-it-yourself way. I DON'T want to use iron on transfer paper, fabric markers and I don't want to buy a silk screening kit. I've heard of Forever transfers but I don't know if they sell them in stores. Can anybody help me?

  1. YES!!!  Freezer Paper Stencils..Here's how..Reynold's Freezer Paper is found in most grocery stores with the aluminum foil and wax paper.  It is not the same as parchment paper!  Freezer paper has a paper like side and a glossy waxy side.  The waxy side can be ironed glossy side down to fabric and removed over and over and over again..  Cut a piece of Freezer paper to fit the shirt and larger than the image.  Trace image on paper side of Freezer Paper and cut out using a craft knife ( be sure to use a cutting board underneath!!)  once image you want is removed ...ie...skull or pear or apple or words...Iron glossy side down to shirt. Place stiff cardboard under image to be painted and paint over Freezer paper stencil with Fabric permanent paint.  when dry peel off paper...and use again and again!!  Have fun...

  2. Fabric paint. Cute and do it yourself

  3. Hello.... Why not simply go to a silkscreening store open to the public and ask them to make you somethin'. At least if you have a silkscreening place do it for you you'll know that your article of clothing will come out looking perfect!

  4. You can paint with ordinary craft paint mixed with fabric medium. These are available in any craft store, some dollar stores and walmart or paint store. Just follow the directions - works great on blue jeans and most other fabrics.

TIP: wash clothing first with NO fabric softener - paint will adhere better.

    Also - why don't you try tie-dying?
