Are they creating a new planet for us?

my sister told me that she heard around three years ago, scientists found a planet or something that they're trying to make for us to live on.

is this strue? or is there something like it or has to do with it?

they find a planet very similar to Earth,but it was find some mouths ago,not 3 years.So I tough you talking about something else

They looking for other planets like earth cuz in the future we would need another planet,earth is over-populated

About the Q. Your sister probably by lapse or to tease you probably combined news of discovering planets with highly speculative proposals to terraform Mars, something very, very very unlikely to happen even hundreds of years from now, at a cost... well, astronomical.

The planet Magrathea is actually a planet making factory and it made the Earth long ago.  One of the original designers is Slartibartfast, who specialised in fjords.  He likes the lovely crinkly bits around them.  

After Earth as we know it was destroyed by the Vogon constructor fleet to make way for an hyperspace bypass, the Magratheans were contracted to build an exact replica by a race of hyper-dimensional pan-intelligent being that appear in our Universe just like white mice.  

Slartibartfast was revived to do the new fjords.

Sadly, this replica was colonised by a party of hairdressers, advertising account executives and telephone sanitisers before the native apes could develop intelligence and solve the riddle that if the answer to life, the Universe and everything was 42, what was the question?
