Are they drugged or very well trained?

The coppers who nick you for nothing and assult you in town are obviously from a different school to the once in a year friendly face you see in your street.

What is your view of the police?

There are good and bad police just as there are good and bad plumbers.But whereas the plumber can only f5ck up your pipes, the policeman can f5ck up your life.

One of the biggest mistakes ever, was making the police responsible for apprehending traffic offenders. This lost them a lot of public respect; it showed us how they can exaggerate to make a charge stick and sometimes even lie to save face in court. We should have a different, special authority, to deal with traffic offenders and let the police concentrate on real crime.

However, on the whole, they do a tremendous job, despite an often lack of full co-operation and support from the public at large. Its a pity that they seem to regard the public as potential criminals instead of as  their employers and friends.

On the other hand the 'respect' they give the public seems somehow to have a false ring... "excuse me sir, don't you realize this is a 30 m.p.h.zone......................".

This 'us and them' attitude is apparent on both sides, and it must make the job of 'policing' extremely frustrating.

Having known a few men in the law enforcement business, it is my opinion that they are mostly jackasses.  Of course there are exceptions, some are actually intrested in making the world a safer place, but they are the exception, not the rule.  I think this job attracts people with a certain type of controlling personality.  It seems that they only want to exert their authority on others.

I have a lot of respect for police.  Everyone likes to complain about them.  Whether a speeding ticket or something more, they are persecuting you when you did nothing wrong.  BALONEY!!!!  Treat them w/ the respect with which you expect to be treated.  I also love the everyone hates police, but who do you first call when someone has wronged you?

There is a certain personality attracted to power over others.   Some people just like being able to jerk other people around and getting your own substitute, death-dealing metal p***s? Just a bonus fo the US coppers.

most cops are ok but u get a few who are not very friendly if they attack u without good reason get thier num from the badge on thier shoulder and report them but if u cooperate and do as they ask and arent doing anything anti social or illeagal there should be no problem at all

they threatened to arrest a mate of mine on saturday when she was waiting for me whilst they were fining me. she asked a few innocent questions like whats going on, they told her to f off now or they'd arrest her. hardly calming the situation eh! two cers.

Well where I live the cops are pretty cool, so I don't have any problem with them.

never there when u want them but if u have a tail light out or drive at 33 mph there they are.not there 4 crimes but turn up for drivers.
