Are they getting smarter or am i getting dumber?

Question

in my lessons im usually ahead in my class but the past week or two of what we have been learning in college of what the teachers have been teaching us, ive not understood it, i know abit of what the teacher was saying but not all of it but the rest seem to know what he was talking about and its just gone over my head.

can someone help explain this to me

its funny you know because most people in my lesson are asking me for help and for once im asking them

The same has happened to me when I'm over-tired. Just take this weekend to relax and you'll be ahead again.

A tutor of mine used to tell me-if you haven't understood it is my fault for not making myself clear, if you allow me to continue without understanding that is your fault for not asking me to make it clearer-. I found this helpful as I never felt at fault when asking questions. Sometimes we reach saturation point with knowledge and need a little extra help.

Apparently you had a good background for the materials that were presented earlier in the school year... but now you've come upon some material that is brand new and which is a challenge. It happens to everyone. Ask your friends for help and you'll get past it!

You have reached your plateau.  Take a little break!

Go over what you already know... you obviously have the knowledge and confidence needed for your course, so if you are finding this part difficult, have a chat with your tutor.

I think this is a very positive thing to happen.  You will remember this when it happens in your classroom after you graduate.  

Children learn at different speeds and if everything has always been easy for you, you may not be as patient with the students in your class who just don't get it the first time you explain.

Just give your classmates who you have been helping a chance to help  you.  It will help their self esteem and your teaching skills and understanding in the future.

This was a great question.  It shows you are on the right track to being an excellent teacher (I assume that's what you are studying to be because your question is under preschool)
