-No, FireRed and LeafGreen weren't made for the sake of having a remake.

1.They had fixes in them to fix the time problem in Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire

3.They had Pokemon that were only available in those games so they made them fro trainers to obtain the rest of the Pokemon.

-If anything they'll make a game were you are in a new region but you can travel to Johto, at least that's what I hope for.

No theres a new version of diamond and pearl though called pokemon plaitnum coming out for the ds.

And pokemon emrald was the new verison for gold and silver.
