Are they killing kangaroo's in australia?

i live in austrlia and someone told me that there are people in canberra that are payed to kill kangaroo's because there is too many!

is this true?

Someone must be killing them because you can buy kangaroo steaks and kangaroo pet food.

sure is - roos tend to breed beyond what can be supported by their current eco-system so the option is let them have their land back or cull them so they don't suffer a roo famine.

Its true. They so enjoy what we provide (nice green paddocks) that they multiply beyond an acceptable level.

In fact its been found that many indigenous species have flourished following European settlement and would benefit from culling.

they are culling the kangaroos out of Canberra but they aren't just taking to them with a shot gun they give them euthanasia

Yes, they're killing them because there's way way too many in some parts. They don't exactly have natural predators which means they get out of control quite easily, not to mention they breed like rabbits.

probably true. it's called culling. which seems to make it more acceptible. They do breed a lot, and have the tendency to jump infront of cars. but still, we moved onto their land not the other way round.
