Are thick eyebrows "in"?

Question

When I tweezed my eyebrows my mom made fun of me for it, not because I over did them but because she said people these days like thick eyebrows, is that true, how can the thickness of your eyebrows be fashionable or not

It depends on your face, hair color, and style. If you have short, dark hair, thick eyebrows are great. If you have long, blonde hair, thin eyebrows are classic.

Really, don't let your mom get to you, you are beautiful, in any way.

People with thick eyebrows look younger.  If you over tweeze your eyebrows it looks messy and you look older than you actually are.  It's better to go inbetween thick and thin... A high arch and sleek shape is what you should strive for.

Yes, it's true that thicker, more natural eyebrows are more in fashion now. It may seem silly, but eyebrows shapes go in and out of fashion. Take a look at the decades of the 20th century. Before the 1920s, people mostly didn't tweeze their eyebrows (or shave). The 20s saw the arrival of short skirts which led to shaving, and suddenly people started tweezing their eyebrows very thin or shaving them off completely to draw them in. This continued until the 40s and 50s when thicker eyebrows became more fashionable and women drew in very exaggerated, arched shapes (think Elizabeth Taylor). Come the late 60s, more natural looks were adopted by some. The 70s saw a revival of thin eyebrows as in the 1920s, and the 1980s welcomed back super-thick brows like those of Brooke Shields. The 1990s saw thinner brows. Thicker ones are back in again - so don't overtweeze. Also remember to do what is most comfortable for you, because that's really what it comes down to. If you do anything that is too trendy, you'll probably regret it later. If you like your eyebrows thick, have them that way. If you want them thin, have them that way. It's more important to consider your face shape and what is most flattering to it than to worry about what is in fashion now.

when a persons eyebrows are too thin i feel that it lenghens their face, alot. and to be honest we dont all want to go around with long faces now hey? :)

i'd say yeah leave them, maybe shape the ends a tad to make them look stylish, but nowadays its better to be individual and natrualy pretty than fake beuty :)

I don't think eyebrows follow a "trend". If thick eyebrows suit you and look good, then yes, they would be in. But they don't look good on everyone.

The very thin overplucked drawn on eyebrows are hideous, and maybe people are starting to realize that thicker eyebrows look better than those.

But there isn't really a trend. It's whatever suits your face.

it depends on your other features... thick eyebrows are appealing if your other characteristics dont stand out too much.. eg if you have big lips-no thick eyebrows...or if your nose is big and angled... thick eyebrows usually dont look good...

Definitely, skinny eyebrows are OUT. Your mom has it right with the mid to thick brows. Not bushy but thicker than the skinny brows.

Yes, thicker brows are "in" - look at Brooke Shields on Lipstick Jungle.

Eyebrow hair follicles can easily become "fatigued" from tweezing and will not grow back - permanently.  I have friends that have not tweezed in years, and are still waiting for theirs to grow back.  So err on the side of caution, or you might wind up like one of those little, old ladies that is DRAWING theirs on....

"thick" eyebrows aren't in. but super thin ones are out. i hate those, they're so unnatural. dunno how anyone could ever think they were beautiful.

I don't know if eyebrows are 'in', but i think thick ones look SO much better... they look so much prettier and healthier, i hate thin eyebrows! especially when you have light hair!
