Question:

Are those Ouija boards a good way of attracting ghosts?

I'm just fascinated to see if they do exist.

Is that the easiest way to find out?

I think I would be a bit scared of using one just in case though. On the other hand I want to see if they do really exist.

  1. Hey, I'm a 13-year-old atheist. I've never used an Ouija board - in general I'm pretty skeptical about that kind of thing, but I've heard lots of stories, including (what they claim to be) real experiences from people I know, and ever since I heard about them I've been curious to see if there is any truth whatsoever in the stories. At my last party, me and one of my friends were very interested in them, and wanted to try it, but the others were scared just about looking it up on the internet, as if that would somehow put us in danger, and were all telling stories about how their dad's friends cousin had used one and then died two days later etc etc, so we decided to leave it in the end. We did plan to just get together just the two of us another time and try it out (without telling the others), but we never got round to it. We were a little scared to use it too. Unfortunately, I don't think there's really any way you can find out other than trying it yourself - it all depends on whether you believe the stories you hear. Personally, I'd want to see it with my own eyes before I actually believed, but, like you, I'd be scared just in case. I think I probably will use one one day, because I won't be able to resist the curiosity! If I do, I'll let you know if anything happens!!

Sorry for the very unhelpful answer!

  2. Some people say they are.  I played with one plenty as a child and I never had anything unusual happen.

  3. Yes...! Any Fundamental Evangelical Christian can tell you that! Check the Westboro Baptist Church web site!

  4. Necromancy is false.  The dead know nothing.

  5. G-morning there zippy! Your looking rather doo today! There are NO such things as ghosts my friend.

  6. One don't do it.

    Two don't do it.

I have talked to a dozen people about those damned things and they all tell me the same thing, there real and nothing to mess with.

a co worker of mine who is as far from the belief system I have

(I'm Christian& shes a Pagan) that they contain evil spirits, not ghosts.

I have been told this repeatedly by any one who uses them.

There a portal to things you will lose control of.

    Thirdly don't do it.

  7. there's no such thing as ghosts

  8. Ghosts are imaginary.  Save yourself ten bucks.

  9. Don't use one. It attracts demons only. Any self respecting Ghost would have no part of them. If you use one and you get what you think is a ghost, then a few days later you find out it was actually a demon. If you want a real ghost set up a portal in an area where you have two mirrors reflecting themselves with you in the reflection, with water running on the east and west sides of you. Then just ask them to come. Start with requesting a family member to come to you.

Of course, you know, any time you do this you are setting yourself up for trouble. The fact is, where you attract good spirits, you will also attract the bad. It is expensive, by the way, to hire a common place ghost buster these days.

If you want a ghost, I'd be happy to share mine, he is bored with me anyway. Give me a street name to send him to and he will find you.

    I am happy to share.

  10. Trust me, if it does then it will be the hottest selling game in the market.

  11. Ouija boards do not attract ghosts.  I used a Ouija board years ago and nothing happened.  Nothing happened when some of my friends played the Ouija board.  I actually found the whole experience incredibly boring.  Scrabble is much more fun, more interesting, and more exciting.

The ouija board is just a game that you can buy in most toy stores and department stores, an ordinary piece of wood or plastic or cardboard.  It is meant for two or more players so it will not work very well if you try to use it alone.  It has no supernatural powers.  It does not communicate with the dead and it does not contact spirits.  It does not open any portals to the underworld or to anywhere else.  The people using the ouija board make it work through ideomotor movement.  It plays on your mind and imagination and your susceptibilities and beliefs and fears.  It can be scary because the imagination is a powerful thing, and can make you believe just about anything.  Here are a couple of links that discuss ouija boards and how to use them.

  12. Maybe.

If the little widget on the board moves without you or anyone else touching it, I might be impressed.  If anyone is touching it, they could be the ones moving it just to fool you.

Be careful though, because even if it does attract ghosts, there is a chance those ghosts may not be the kind you want around

  13. Its boring, not fun, and a waste of a game. It spelled out "mjxksj" when I played it, so unless I had a mentally handicapped ghost, they don't exist. Buy a sammich and try to eat it with your feet, its more entertaining.
