Oh dear, why people are doing this kind of act? Why such thing is repeating or snowballing everywhere like in Japan, Australia, UK, US and now Canada. Where now to happen? Can we think of something to delete it totally from happening? .....Just try to think of something, OK.

  1. **You know I agree with you.  It's so sad with the way things are going and not being able to feel safe wherever you are.

I don't know if there's really any way these things can be stopped.  Gun control etc is only going to do so much to prevent these things from happening.

My dad would say to bring back the death penalty and that might reduce the crime rate.**

  2. I have a controversial theory for the rise in violent assaults but first lets go back a few centuries to France. Now your in France mid 1700's there is a huge amount of violent mostly unprovoked attacks on people. People howling like wolves as they do so. These attacks were found in the 1960's to have been down to one thing. The bread the people were eating was not as refined as it is now. In the bread that the less well off ate was a chemical rather similar to LSD. So I put forward this notion there is something in our food that is giving some people this affect. May give the majority of us no problems but it could be turning ordinary calm loving people on occasions into violently uncontrollable people

If the weather is warm and damp, rye (then a staple crop) can produce a poisonous fungus called ergot. Hallucinations, fits, pinpricking sensations, muscle spasms: the symptoms of ergotism are similar to the effects of LSD, which itself is derived from ergot. The nerve toxins in ergot of rye affect animals as well as humans.

Europe's last major outbreak of ergot poisoning happened in 1951, at Pont-Saint-Esprit in France. Contaminated bread from the village bakery resulted in over two hundred cases of illness and thirty-two of insanity, including that of an 11-year-old boy who attempted to strangle his mother. Four people died. Victims, whose delusions included being attacked by tigers and snakes, often had to be restrained with straitjackets. A few villagers even believed that they were turning into wild beasts, a fact that may explain the old werewolf legends. Despite advances in medicine and a better knowledge of pharmacology, some people still turned to the supernatural for explanations.

I think someone some scientist or police forensic techs should look into this find out the foods that people have eaten who carry out these attacks.

  3. In my opinion, because we are so focused on trying to keep up with the Jones' that we have forgotten our core values - that the family and home is where the heart lies. Parents are so busy to take care or pay attention to kids that we are left to our own devices. So without proper guidance and advice, there tend to be some who will go astray.

  4. Sadly, we're on our way to becoming another "ME" society, I think.  I don't try to act like that, but with the rash of recent hideous crimes, and people not even bothering to look, or the indifference I'm seeing, I'm noticing a trend in people becoming desensitized to these things.  That or "It's every man for himself".

I still cannot believe (and I'm Canadian) that not one, ONE or TWO of those passengers didn't say "Hey, let's help this guy"! No.. they wanted to be heroes on the outside of the bus.  Like I stated in another question - I know I wasn't there, but all the passengers weren't elderly, or children, and alot of those 'men' just left him to die.

But anyway, look up, because Not all Society is like that!!  We should start being better neighbours and friends, and then maybe someone will think about us.  Not the other way around.

God bless you, and the victim, and all victims of senseless tragedies.

    xoxo

  5. Crime rates have been going down, Really. We are just growing up and realizing that the world isnt so innocent as we thought it might be. We also become more protective with the though of having or having children. Also the easy access to the news, the media being completely global and getting stories immediately, makes it seem more prevalent than it is. But anyway we still need to stop what is going on!

  6. I have this question repeatedly.

Are things crazier and more violent today or is it that technology has made it possible for us to be tormented by common occurrences.

    I think the former.

When I was in High School and someone got into a fight, if anyone used a weapon they were considered cowards. Fist against fist was the rule.

As far as stopping the violence now; 40 years ago, my college economics professor predicted that technology and expanding population would create pressures resulting in people unable to cope and committing hideous crimes. Unfortunately i believe his theory is true.

  7. we need more mental hospitals and we need to be more open and acepting to mental illness . we need to help bring these people out of the closet and try to understand there suffering and get them help. now if no ones for that then we need to bring back the hang man and do public executions to ward off  crime.

  8. There's just a whole lot of selfishness out there.

    A lot of envy . . . greed.

    I can't figure it.
