  1. h**l ya you can thank tv and fu-kin movies for that.

  2. In terms rebellion, I would say not. Every generation seems to feel the need to rebel in one way or another.

In terms of violence, I would say yes...............society has become more "tolerent" and people have more things to support there anti-social behaviour. Gone are the days when a teacher could discipline a roudy student without being accused of abuse or worse. Gone are the days when an adult was to be respected and listened to. Gone are the days when the chat with the local policeman was enough to set someone right.

More negativity.........:-), why yes, of course........and you know why? Because society has become lax. Young people these days have so few real and tangible boundaries.

  3. youths today are fast more worse than in the past generations.

  4. today's youth is more stupid and ignorant because schooling allows them to be.

  5. yes due to the increase in human technology.. because of movies, the media, etc etc, youths are having access to see violence, rebellion and negativity.. and this leads to an increase in more violence..

  6. when you consider the possibilities we have today, for obtaining and spreading information, you might conclude that there is a balance. maybe they seem/are more violent because you find out about every act of violence, and fast. violence triggers more violence. i once heard about a boy (10) who raped two girl cousins aged 7 and 5 and beat them up. why? because he'd seen it in a movie.

    so, violent news, movies...

    PLUS

adults aren't giving much of a peace-oriented example, by fighting wars they don't need to fight and living in a daily fight for survival where everybody's at everybody's necks. it's a tough world and kids today are more and more precocious, they learn much earlier what it's all about. sad.

  7. same !

  8. yes they are much more violent but you have baby boomers

and fractured generation x from lack of parenting from the baby boomers and gen x and echo boomers are to are to coddled without the independent minded ability of The generation x gen x was neglected now the and the baby boomers have gone in extrema one way or the other and you have wwasp which is horrible on the neglect abuse boomers and the oldest gen x parent no wonder gen y is so messed up thats not even all the reason because gen x is to diverse to be pinned down by statistics boomers tryed to do that too them and they never fit into the boxes the boomers made for them oh yea and have you heard from the AP news research we are all drinking drace amount of drugs in all the water supplys tested in the us

  9. The youth today are by far more violent than when I was a teen. For instance, today's youth are more apt to pull a gun or knife on someone to solve a dispute, whereas the youth of the 70s were more apt to solve disputes with their fists. The youth of my generation (70s child) were more willing to forgive and the consequences of our actions very rarely caused the death of another.

I was a rebellious teenager, but not so that I was willing to join a gang to prove who I was. My acts of rebellion included smoking cigarettes & marijuana, skipping school, and drinking beer on the weekends. Additionally, all it took was for my parents to threaten the belt across my behind to change my attitude real quick. Today's teens are more rebellious because if a parent were to even suggest that they were going to spank them with a belt, they are more willing to pull the old "abuse" card ~ causing the parents to fear repercussions for just for disciplining their child.

Negativity ... Hmmmm, I would have to say that the kids today are more negative than my generation. As a child in the late 60s and a teen during the 70s, I have to say that we were a lot more into helping others than self-preservation. We had our odreams, hopes, and ambitions, but we were also more compassionate toward the human race. We spoke out in peaceful forms about things that upset us, and today's generation are more willing to utilize violence to make their point and to attempt to force a change.

All in all, I would definitely say that my generation's youth was much more calmer than the youth of today or the most recent decades. I could walk through neighborhoods of my hometown without fear in my day but, as an adult, I wouldn't dream of going through there without my car doors locked & windows up. We live a somewhat "idyllic" life, but we were not naive ...

We knew the score and how to achieve it without violence and negativity, but with a style of rebellion that is seldom seen today ...

  10. I think they have greater access to deadly weapons but they aren't much more violent, except in poverty ridden areas and that is because they are more angry and less hopeful that in the past since time shows nothing changes there for the better without tremendous effort and luck for an individual. Kids seem more negative, but so do adults.  there seems to be a sense of doom and helplessness that is sucking the joy out of our culture.
