Question:

Are tomatoes back on sandwiches (McDonald's, Wendy's, Subway)?

I was dismayed to try the Southern Chicken sandwich (free coupon) at McD's without just lettuce - - now the media is guessing that tomatoes were not the cause of the Salmonella "scare" - - what do you know?

  5. I wish that tomatoes would never be put on anything ever again. Life would be so AWESOME if I never had to say, "Can I have that without tomato please?"

  6. Oh they all had to get rid of there tomatoes and then certain places got new ones that were inspected and good soo u should bee fine i no subway has new tomatoes soo dont be worrid ok

  7. The tomatoes are back because the FDA approved only SOME tomatoes to be salmonella free.

  8. Yes, tomatos are back...I just went out to a McDonalds yesterday...and got a hamburger...and there was a tomato on it! Yaa!

  9. No, the tomatoes are not back on sandwiches.  The CDC has confirmed over 750 cases  in 36 states of salmonella illness caused from tomatoes.  Most places are not offering tomatoes until all this has been completely resolved because they fear law suits.  Better safe than sorry is the current mindset.

  10. They are back. I went to a buffet the other day, and fortunately yes, they did have tomatoes.

  11. It depends on the McDonald's location if they still serve certain veggies with their sandwiches. But I do know for fact that unless you ask for it, the Southern Chicken sandwich doesn't come with tomatoes anyway. I believe it only comes with pickles and condiments.

    Have a good one,

  12. The salmonella scare only lasted about 4 days, and it was quickly resolved. The best thing to do when you hear this scare is look at the facts. The reason why it was so hard to determine WHERE it came from, is that tomatoes of all kinds were stored or shipped within the same containers in/to markets.

THUS, any market that doesn't do so was easily able to avoid selling or even HAVING such tomatoes.
