  1. there not easy! you have to drop the transmission for that job and some of them can be a bear, but if you need it, i guess you have to change it, theres no way out of it, but if you know about cars and have the tools, you can do it. one more thing, make sure the converter is all the way back into the pump, because it it,s not, as soon as you crank the engine, it will tear the pump out, then you will have to drop the transmission and put a new pump in.

  2. With a shop and all the proper tools and experience some makes and models can present a real challenge and time investment to change.

Real wheel drive cars are easier than front wheel drive cars.

You didnt ask but if you were thinking on trying this yourself I recommend that you have a strong interest in working on cars along with a good working mechanical knowledege, exuiped with more than your basic set of tools and most importantly a more experienced person willing to help you. Torque converters rarely go bad so unless your planning on racing you may have a transmission going bad. Good luck Rob

  3. Depends on your level of know how. But if your asking then my answer is no. I recommend having a garage do it.

  4. Once the transmission is removed it's very easy.

But if the converter is not install correctly in the pump.

You will buy a rebuild and a new converter.

It will trash both before you can turn the key off.
