Question:

Are toslink cables always 3.5mm in size?

I'm looking for a toslink switch box so i can connect more than one device to my home theatre system (only one input). I found one online, but it says on the front page "we recommend 6mm toslink cables"

I thought the normal was 3.5mm.

I'm now, rather confused... I don't want to buy a product thats designed for 6mm, when i've only got 3.5mm.

  1. Mini-Toslink are about 3.5 mm, but standard Toslink is larger (6mm). Most Toslink connectors are the larger 6mm size -- which is considered standard. Adapters to allow mini-toslink to fit a standard 6mm jack are available.  See the link.
