Are transitions and UV light protectors in case of spectacles/glasses are same?

i basically want to know whether UV light protector on glasses will them work like transitions?

Transitions and UV protection blocks UV rays.  However, transitions grow dark in response to UV rays while UV protection does not.  Transitions also reduce glare.  Just keep in mind that transitions usually don't work in the car because the your car windows are usually UV protected.

If you buy polycarbonate lenses, UV protection is already included so don't pay more for something that is already in the lenses.
