Are travel agents better than taking your time to plan your own trip?

i am going to take a shout 6 night trip almost 4000 miles away. Would it be better for me to rent my own car when i get there? book my own flight? find my own hotel?

If you have time, like to do that type of thing and want to save money.  If not get a TA........

This year I did the lot myself but out of curiosity asked my TA to price it for the same and she couldn't come up with a better price so I did it myself.The holiday was £70 cheaper booking on-line.I got car hire half of what I was getting quoted at home and you have the flexibilty of changing your plans as well.

Tripadvisor is a must to check hotel reviews.

If you're willing to take up the time to book all the seperate things (taxi's to and from airport/car rentals) then book it yourself. Travel agents will be able to take care of most of the jobs that are needed to be done, however sometimes the cost may be a little bit more.
