I mean if I buy an oyster card and a 7 days travel card, are there special fares for coach connecting Gatwick with London?

In case, where can I buy an oyster card in Gatwick airport?

  1. The Gatwick Express is more comfortable than a coach. It will deposit you at Victoria Station and you can buy your oyster card there. You can also buy it before hand on the Transport for London site.

The advantage to the coach is that it first stops at

    (1) Coulsdon opposite South Station

    (2) Streatham High Road Opposite / Near Odeon

before it goes to Victoria Station

  2. No, you cannot use an Oyster or a Traval Card from Gatwick, as it is outside the London travel zones. To answer your other question: an off peak card is for use after 9.30 weekdays, and all day at weekends and public holidays.

  3. travelcards are only valid for services operated by Transport for London (London buses, underground etc) ... the coach that runs between Gatwick and London is operated by National Express so is not covered ... and anyway Gatwick is outside of Greater London so you would not be able to buy a travelcard there ... you would need to either get the coach or the Gatwick Express train into London and buy the travelcard once you're there
