  1. yeah, they have pretty small engines compared to their size. but they'll go 55 with no trouble whatsoever, and can accelerate slowly beyond that point. So they're not so slow that you can't take them on the interstate or anything, but they're definitely not race cars.

edited to add: I assumed you were talking about Isuzu troopers, the vehicles, rather than state troopers or storm troopers or some other kind of trooper.

  2. Most state troopers have good sized engines & geared 4 top end..

  3. I am an automotive mechanic and have worked on both state and county police cars.  The traditional crown vics that have 4.6 liter V8's and have heavier duty components, are programed to do 135 mph.  However in recent years the gas crunch has caused some departments (that is to say local departments, the troopers still use the regular crown vic) to use smaller cars that get better gas mileage.  However, I have seen dodge charger and corvette police cruisers.  If you see one of those, just pull over.

  4. you'll know if you try to outrun one..  good luck!  ;)

  5. yes they are

  6. The Crown Vic's usually have pretty strong engines. It is pretty hard to outrun one.

  7. You're asking the wrong question.  You should be concerned about how "fast" their radio systems work.  And then, how close is the state line?

  8. Not really.     Most of them are now required to have college degrees.

  9. Well their cars are faster than most peoples cars, but if you have a newer car(04+) with a V6 engine then you can get away from them. If they have Chargers in your area then you need something that was designed to perform.
