Are truck drivers going on strike on April 1?

Have you heard this rumor in your part of the USA?

This is true. The strike will begin on April 1, 2008 but it is not a sure fact all the drivers will stop and how long it will last for. I am a cashier at a truck stop and my husband is a trucker as well. I have read many blogs and forums refering to this situation. I just hope all the drivers will stick together and hopefully it will make a difference.

I haven't heard anything about this in MI, and I generally catch the news. Why would they strike? The only reason I can think of is high gas prices, but I don't see how a strike would help to solve that..

I have heard they they are striking to protest the price of diesel fuel.  I live in NC.
