Are turtles illegal to buy in TN??

and if so what animals require the same amount of care?

and are kind of like a turtle (small,low-matnince,and something mom would approve of) but no snakes or rodents and no cats or dogs.

Get a bearded dragon. they are pretty easy to take care of and are great pets.

turtles are illegal to sell under 4 inches, because of sooooo many baby turtles receiving horrible care. Turtles are really hard to take care of, and are not easy maintenence at all. Turtle supplies can cost over $500, because filters can cost $200! So it is very expensive to keep one. Maybe you could get a leopard gecko, they are very low maintenence, and can live in a very small 10 gallon tank their whole lives! They are easy to take care of and are safe, affectonate pets to responcible owners.

Other easy options could be to keep an aquarium with compatable community fish.
