Are twin tip skis equiped for ski racing?

When i was racing i used a different pair - Atomics race skis

  1. I've seen some Nastar forerunners and pacesetters set some blazing times on twin tip skis, but that was mostly because of how good they are, not the skis.  TT skis are probably too soft for an icy, rutted race course.  Thats not to say they won't go fast, but they're not specifically constructed for racing.   Atomic makes some of the best race skis out there, still.


  2. Twins are for the pipe and the park. A race ski is designed to race. The shape and construction for each exists for a specific reason.

    Twins tend to be softer and have (usually) a symetrical construction. They are designed to be ridden frontwards and backwards. Race skis are stiffer and asymetrical. They are not designed to be ridden backwards...hence, a flat tail.

  3. nope! the flex of the ski isn't right, and it's hard to get the damaged edges back into good shape.

    although, i suppose you could do it if you really tried hard...

  4. Nope, mostly park skiing.
