Are twin xl sheets the same as full sheets?

I'm trying to purchase a set of twin xl bedsheets for a college dorm, except the only place I've seen twin xl sheets is at Target. Anywhere else I go only has full. Are they the same thing?

Hi, They are not the same as a twin xl mattress is 39"x80" and a full is 54"x75".

For the extra-long size twin you will need a fitted sheet that is 39” x 80”, a flat sheet that is 66” x 102” and a pillow case that is 20” x 26”. Hope this helps.

No. Full sheets are a few feet wider than twin sheets. XL twin sheets are a foot longer than twin sheets. They also sell them at walmart. I'm sure there will be more available in other stores when school gets closer.

No - twinxl sheets are longer, but not wider.  They are pretty much only made for dorm beds.  Full sheets are not long enough and are too wide for dorm beds.  You could try Wal-Mart of Linens and Things but I am not sure they sell TwinXL.  Check out their online websites.  I know Bed Bath and Beyond does carry them.  You may also want to go to Nextag.com and type in twin xl sheets, and you will get a list of all the online stores that carry them.
