There are two substances with the same set of properties, except that one substance will conduct electricity and the other substance will not. Are they the same substance?

  1. I was terrible with chemistry, but I would say not.  Electrical conductivity is an identifying characteristic of a substance, so I would suppose an electrically conductive material would be a different substance from an electrically non-conductive material.


  2. No they are not the same substance. They may be very similar but they are not the same substances.

    In order for the substances to be the same, they must have the exact same properties.

  3. yes and no because im going in to the laws of electric so u might not understand electro molec particals can be shifted in the same substances say i have some metal the same type in a circuit one makes the light brighter and the other dimmer it is a electro molec partical shift one traveled through the oxegen other didnt so i have proved thay could be the same material and that oxegen can conduct electrisity
