It would probably depend on the Airline, and where you're going.

You just have to ask and find out... make sure you ask ahead of time, so you can make arrangements for your pets if they say no.

Not anymore you can't.  For good reason too.  I know that you want to hold your hamster, but truth is, it is either banned or you have to check it.

That's something you'd have to ask the individual airlines. They all have their preferences. I would think that it's acceptable as long as it's in a secure carrier that fits under the seat (like cats & small dogs), but again, you'd have to ask the airline that you're flying with, especially since they may require a health certification, even for a hamster.
