No because relationships call for satisfying some need in the other person.  If they are self sufficient, they don't need me.  That works out pretty well because I don't think I'd want someone who was arrogant enough to think that of themselves.

Yes. I have been married to her for 13 years. She refuses to go to anyone for help but find her own solutions.This is one of the things I so admired about her. Intuitive improvisation is the secret of genius.

No in-laws, no friends, no family, just her and I and our kids.

Depending upon outsiders like relatives or friends is a horrible experience. They make you feel obligated to them and I'd much rather do without as would my wife.

I try to be self-sufficient and self-reliant as far as possible myself. And yes, I do like people like myself. :-)

Yes i like someone independant and out going.  There are the types out there that need someone to depend on them though to give them thier self worth feeling.

Very broad question, but in general - yes.  I don't like people who are dependent on me, it's too much responsibility, and I don't like people who are clingy and want to do everything with me, it's suffocating.

If someone is self-sufficient and self-reliant they will be with me because they want to be, not because they need to be.  They'll also have their own interests and activities, and so will I - and we'll also share some things.  Our lives will be much more interesting than if one of us is dependent.
