  1. Well first off, I'm not a Packers fan but I will weigh in with my thoughts.. When I found out that he was traded, I was a little upset but more so shocked.  Here was a guy that I thought was committed to the Packers and that they were committed to him.  But now I see that he wanted out of GB all along.  They didn't neccessarily want him there but he came back.  So I think they took the attitude that he is too much trouble to handle right now, lets get some draft picks and stick with Rodgers for now.  So that is what they did.  I guess Favre didn't really want to retire a Packer because if he did, he would have fought harder to stay there, or he would have stayed retired.  Either way, I'm shocked and a little disappointed that we didn't see Favre retire a Packer like many thought he would do..

  2. I have been saying the whole time the Packers didn't want him back, and sure enough they didn't, he haven't done anything different this year than in the past the Packers made the choice to back Rodgers and this Packer fan will back him,but he's not my choice.

  3. I'm mad that he HAD to leave.  Staying wasn't an option given to him by Thompson or McCarthy as far as I can tell so I can't blame him for not staying if he still wants to play NFL football.

I think Green Bay handled the situation about as poorly as it could have been handled.  Not that Favre wasn't to blame for some of it (he was), but the way the Packers treated Favre like c**p just wasn't necessary at all IMO.

After all, Favre did more for the Green Bay organization (including Thompson and McCarthy) in the last 16 years than any other player in franchise history in terms of making the organization money, making them popular nationwide, making the GM look smart, making the head coach look smart etc.

I'm almost certain that Ted Thompson and Mike McCarthy would both be out of a job this year had Favre not played like a legend last year, leading a Packers team that easily could have been 6-10 to the NFC Championship game instead.  Last season sure made McCarthy and Thompson look smart, didn't it?  I can't wait to see how smart they look without Favre covering their @$$es this year.

  4. I think Favre is a big baby who can't make up his freaking mind.  I hope he has the crappiest year of his career.

  5. Your Answer:

I am very disappointed with Packer management. It appears that they have been pushing Brett out for some time (probably why he retired in the first place). I think that they had no intention of having him back when he returned. Mike M should be fired. I think he said something from the movie "Brave Heart" behind closed doors "in order to play for us you need to put your head between your legs and kiss your own ar$$" when Brett said forget you... Mike M said publically that "Brett was not in the right mindset to play for us...I mean kiss his own ar$$" I'm sorry that Brett did not get to finish with the Packers or play for the Vikings/ Tampa. I think he would have enjoyed putting it to the Packers mgmt ( I would have enjoyed seeing it). I would also have enjoyed watching Mike and Packer mgmt get fired.

  6. I'm happy.  Now it can get back to normal around here.

And to all who say "big deal he came out of retirement"  I actually agree with you. But the WAY he chose to go about it makes me sick. It's his fault this has turned into a circus. Joe Montana went to KC for a couple of years, and he was able to do with CLASS, something fumble favre should take a lesson in.

  7. i think that it sucks that Brett is not going to finish his career in Green Bay however i am glad that he will be finishing his career with a team that actually wants him to be there and to play...

so he decided to continue to play after announcing his retirement... many other athletes have done the exact same thing
