Are vampires immortal?

Question

Some people say they are, some people say they aren't... So what is it, are they or not? Or does it just depend? I don't mean the vampire, like the bat, I mean like the human gone bad type of thing.

there are different types of vampires out there and yes i believe there are immortal ones.....

They are immortal under acceptable conditions.

Supposedly there are a few specific ways to kill vampires such as stakes through the heart and leaving them to be fully exposed in sunlight, etc.

"Human gone bad" type? Well, you are obviously only talking about fictional ones so the answer would be yes and no, depending on what story you are reading or what movie you are watching. Real vampires are simply humans, but a little different. Not immortal, no special "powers". They are born as such.

Hi Nicole.  Vampires?  Are they immortal?  Are they not immortal?  Do they even exist???

A vampire is a parasitic creature that subsides on the blood or life-force of others.  Common examples are fleas, ticks, hook worm, mosquitoes, etc.  The vampire made popular by Hollywood is a fictive creature.  That gothic, s**y creature with super powers only exists in the fevered minds of writers.  People afflicted with the mental disorder that makes them believe that they are vampires are sick, paranoid, confused individuals who are NOT immortal.  Even the fictional vampire of Hollywood lore is only immortal until:  1.  He sees the light of day; or 2.  Gets staked; or 3.  Stops a silver bullet; or 4. Has his head separated from his body; or 5. Is burned with fire; or, or, or...  Do you get it?

Well if one vampire bit one victim 500 years ago and that vampire bit one and so on and so on the entire popultion of earth would have become vampires 400 years ago.

the vampire will survive however just like santa claus as long as nerds seek a dreamworld where there cool and powerfull and get chicks.

not that vamipres are real (in the human sense) but to humor, technically they do have immortality but there are myths on how to kill one. (sunlight, the cross, a stake in the heart, ((or in twilight mythology)) shredding them to pieces and burning them. so i guess they will live forever until something like that happens to them so its sort of a yes answer with an added but......

The only actual vampires are vampire bats, and, like all living eukaryotes, have limited life.

everything can die you just have to know how to kill it

since vampires are the most common of the undead they cannot die a natural death of disease, old age or most woulds that would kill a mortal

they can be killed by a stake through the heart, beheading, burning, holy water and of course sunlight.
