  1. Vegetarians can eat whatever they want, they just choose not to eat certain things.

The only definitions worth repeating are those prescribed by the words' founders.

    vegetarian - http://www.vegsoc.org/info/whatis.html

    vegan - http://www.vegansociety.com/newsroom/ind...

All vegan people are vegetarians but most vegetarians are not vegan.

  2. she is more right then you hah.

  3. ur right she stinks

  4. Vegans are a subset of vegetarians, but your friend is not right that they are the same thing.  You've got it basically right, except that veganism by definition extends beyond diet so we don't wear animal fabrics, buy consumer products with animal ingredients or support industries that exploit animals for entertainment (like circuses.)

  5. They are different things.

You are right and your so called retarded friend is wrong.

  6. Your are right.

    They are different.

Vegitarians don't eat meat, but they CAN have milk (dairy), fish (not considered meat) and everything but meat.

Vegans don't eat meat, or anything involved with animals.

Meat: Dead & cooked animals. so they won't eat it!

Milk (Dairy Products): Comes from cows, so they won't eat it!

    Fish: Fish.

    You. You are right..

  7. Vegetarianism is a diet that excludes the consumption of animal ingredients, i.e. flesh and gelatin.

Veganism is a philosophy about not exploiting other animals because they are not here to be your breakfast, your entertainment, your hunting pleasure, your lab experiment, your shoes, your belt or your hamburger. The animals of the world exist for their own reasons, so vegans don't use them in any way. In other words, they do not consume animal flesh or animal products, use anything produced by or taken from an animal, e.g. silk, leather, wool or otherwise use them for their own means, e.g. entertainment. Some vegans would buy second hand wool etc., but this does not add to the demand of animal exploitation, so it is still vegan.

People often mistake veganism as solely a diet, which is erroneous.

  8. Both vegans and vegetarian CAN eat meat - they both choose not to.

Vegetarians do not consume meat or meat bi-products (like gelatin). They may or may not consume milk, dairy, and other animal related products like honey.

Vegans do not use or consume any animal product or bi-product and generally oppose and reject animal testing.

Vegetarianism is usually a dietary choice, while veganism is a lifestyle that includes but isn't limited to diet.

  9. A vegan does not eat any form of animal product. This includes meat, poultry, cheese, milk, or butter.

A vegetarian does not eat any animal product that requires the killing of an animal. This would include meat, fish, pork etc. Milk and cheese IS eaten by vegetarians.

  10. ALL vegetarians choose not to eat meat (no chicken, pork, red meat, fish) or anything that was made from an animal including gelatin, eggs and rennet (an extract from the stomachs of calves and lambs found in some cheeses), it also depends on the kind of vegetarian, some people say they are vegetarians but the only meat they eat is fish and that's called a Pescetarian.

Vegans on the other hand don't eat meat, dairy, gelatin, eggs or use or purchase anything that caused harm to any animal, eg leather handbag or shoes.

  11. Your right.

A vegan does not eat any animal bioproduct- the meat, eggs, butter, milk, ect.

A vegitarian only doesn't eat meat. However there are different types of vegitarians that may eat fish or so on.
