  1. Yes, Vegans are against any animal cruelty. This includes sea critters as well. They are against any animal products. From Cheese to fur to milk and so one...

  2. Yes, vegans are against fishing themselves but not all are against others doing the fishing. Many aren't interested in what others do.

  3. Well, of course, I wouldn't do it.  Vegans don't engage in "sports" that involve causing pain and harm to animals.  And I can't possibly support the commercial fishing industry given that their practices threaten to collapse oceanic ecosystems in the near term.

But, much as I can acknowledge hunting as a more ethical means of obtaining meat than factory farming, I can appreciate someone throwing in a line and procuring their own fish than just buying it all sanitized and wrapped in plastic in the grocery store.  At least they really know what's involved in bringing an animal to their plate.

  4. Yes us veg@ns are against fishing.

  5. I challenge you with this vegans:  If fishing is so cruel and painful to fish, why is the same fish ever caught twice?  Many fish are tagged when caught (especially migratory and open water ocean fish) and when caught again, the tag I.D. can be reported to fish and game.  The numbers help track the migrations/movements of the fish.

So if being caught is so traumatic, why are they ever caught twice?  Oh, that's right.  They are unintelligent animals with a two minute memory who don't know what happened to them.

  6. yes im only vegetarian and i think its cruel...most vegetarians and vegans think its animal cruelty

  7. That's a personal choice.

Most of the time, vegans are against animal cruelty of any kind.

I was against fishing even when I ate meat just because I never liked the idea of jabbing a hook in an unsuspecting animal's mouth.  I wouldn't like that done to me, well, unless I got my lip or tongue pierced, but even then it would be MY choice.

  8. YES! IT SOOO MEAN TO THE FISH! THEY COULD DIE OR SOMETHING! NOW I'M GONNA GO CRY SINCE IT IS SO EVIL!!!

  9. Well I know I certainly wouldnt want a sharp hook in my mouth..ouch! I saw steve-o do it...insane! I would say against it..I might say I dont support it. I think its great people go out and get their own food instead of leave it up to someone else for a change. Animals in the wild get their own food..humans are getting their own food...my dad pisses me off because he just does it and lets them go...they went through that agony just for the thrill!? He sometimes catches them to eat but still..I dont go fishing with him anymore..Ive realized its just not something I want to be apart of.

  10. Of course it is a part of hunting and animal abuse which we are all against all kinds of cruelty.

No matter how big or small, the question is not, can they reason? nor can they talk? but,

can they suffer?” …WRONG IS WRONG.

In my opinion, if most urban fish eaters were to visit a modern fishery or aquatic factory farms, to see how the fish are breed, raised, chemical dropped into their mouth, and could see the fish being captivated then being ‘processed’, they would not be impressed and some, perhaps many of them would swear off eating fish and perhaps all aquatic creatures.

  12. I'm a vegan and I think fishing is horrible.

  13. I can't speak for all of us, but I am. I am totally against any act that harms animals in order to satisfy human tastebuds.

  14. Yes.  Even if someone throws the fish back, the act of yanking the fish out of water causes tremendous pain to the fish, and many die from shock once they are tossed back whence they came.

  15. Yes, we are.

  16. I'm not a vegan but I detest fishing. It's hot and boring. My idea of fishing is "casting" my order towards the drive-thru speaker at Long John Silver's.
