  1. nnnno  s illy  surely not

  2. Supermarkets are owned and run by immense corporations.  Making money is their business.  If you want better prices (AND better produce) go to a local farmers stand.

  3. they only care about themselves

IT as the farmer that does all the work in growing them and paying for the water to water them and he gets very little for them it is the supermarkets that are making the profit not the farmer

  4. are you retarded of course thy are

  5. I don't understand the question.. =l

  6. trust me they are not grown in the back of a super mkt they growm right here on the farm and they pay very little for them

  7. These big 'multiples' are a law unto themselves insofar as the 'control' of prices go dude, they're just too powerful now!....

  8. At the back of every grocery store is an area where elves and faeries grow food using pixie dust. I would not call it a farm, exactly. More like the Keebler Elf tree or a huge hollow mushroom.

The grocery store managers set very low prices because these growers do not ask for money. Instead they take the first born children of the unwed teenaged stock girls in payment.

Ogres and trolls living under bridges control the cost at the pumps and are generally feuding with the elves and faeries. So no, this will not make any difference

A win win situation if you know what I mean (and I think you do)

  9. I'm lucky I live in a market town and buy daily from local stall holders.  I pay less for local produce than the supermarkets charge.

  10. I'm afraid the land is worth much more as a car park.......

    ....no home grown veggies

  11. im pretty sure that they arent the people go out and pick them from a very big farm some where. and then the transport them to the super market.

  12. Go out from the back door of supermarket you visit, you will know if they grow it there, and it is not seen there, they bring it from else where.

So; they have the overhead values. If you can afford; pay for it or let it all go for making compost. Not your problem!

  13. they buy food cheap from suppliers.... they sell for as much as they think they can get..

this is the nature of ANY business...

my personally biggest concern is the PET INDUSTRY  - where pet stores buy pups for cheap and sell for rediculous prices..

think how can they buy pups for cheap?? Obviously the "breeder" is taking A LOT of short cuts to save money so they can make money while selling to store for cheap...

as far as food goes.. I try to grow some of my own...I have a garden - this saves ME money AND helps save the environment!

by the way.. there is VERY LITTLE Markup on food - they make the profit in Volume!

(puppies on the other hand are usually marked up 300%)

  14. may be bro, :)
