  1. yes vegetarian is healthy than nonvegetarian

  2. well vegitarians are different from vegan. vegan dont eat any thing but veggies and nuts for protein... so they are really healthy. but vegitarians can eat anything that is not meat. so that includes twinkies, ho hos. all those pattening things so...

  3. Vegan "meat" is processed but does not contain antibiotics, hormones and dioxins which is found in factory farmed meats, so in that respect is healthier.

A vegetarian and vegan diet can be unhealthy if you do not eat a balanced diet.

Its quite hard in one respect to compare the diets, you may have a meat eater that only eats lean free range organic meat and lots of organic fruit and vegetables compared to a veggie that only eats junk food, fried egg and chips for example.

But then you may have a meat eater that has a big fatty fry up for breakfast everyday, and lives on takeaways, and factory farmed meat filed with antibiotics, hormones and dioxins, compared with a veggie who had muesli, fruit for breakfast and cooks meals freshly.

I think in general vegetarians are more health conscious, and  the body takes longer to digest meat, fruit and vegetables are digested easier and break down quicker.

if you follow a good vegetarian diet, I still think it is healthier than a good meat diet.

  4. In general I would guess *most* vegans would be more healthy and less likely to eat junk food. Mainly because there's less vegan junk foods available. I think veg*ns are generally a bit more health conscious too, since we usually have to think alot about what we eat. A carefully considered and well planned vegan diet is healthy and safe for all ages. They just have to ensure to eat a combination of nuts, seeds, beans, legumes, soy milk, tofu, healthy whole meal carbs, fruit and veg. There's an enormous variety to choose from.

But of course this is a generalisation, I'm sure there are unhealthy junk food vegans who live on a carb diet. Same can be said for omni's, I'm sure there are healthy omni's too. It's all up to the individual to take care of their diet and health.

Fake meats are just textured soy made to look & taste like meat. They are great for helping the transition away from meat and towards a veg*n diet. but i'm not a fan of fake meat. I'm also a little concerned about all the chemicals, preservatives and artificial flavors being used to give imitation meat its texture and taste. I think it's ok in moderation, but I prefer veggies.

  5. Depends. A vegetarian that eats cheesy pizza and chips all the time won't be very healthy.

Everyone (not just vegetarians) should enjoy a balanced diet. Vegetarians eliminate two food groups ('Meat & Poultry' & 'Fish & Seafood'). This elimination of certain foods does not mean vegetarians are malnourished. Vegetarians get all of the required nutrients from plant sources (but there are ones that include dairy).

I have no problems with meat eaters, although it's not advisable to make KFC/McDonalds food a staple in your diet. I don't eat meat myself but if you eat meat, I strongly suggest that you buy organic, free range produce whenever possible. Factory farmed animals (the meat used for fast food chains) are full of antibiotics and growth promotors.

From experience, the vegetarians I know look really healthy. One thing I noticed about my vegetarian friends is their skin- it's really radiant.

But of course, there will be unhealthy vegetarians out there.

  6. It's hard to get your proteins as vegetarian. That being said, the meat is often injected with so many steroids as it's unhealthy. The healthiest is probably those who mindfully eat a completely balanced diet.

  7. Not usually, unless they are raw vegans.  Most of the vegetarians I know are constantly eating c**p food.

BTW, the food pyramid is garbage.  No good for anything.
