  1. NO!!! it is fun to watch them eat stuff but they only need enough "meat" they can catch on there own. feeding them will kill them. they are still plants.  developed the  way  to eat flies to supplement to there diets. water and healthy soil is all they need to servive. if anything put them outside in the shade and let nature take its course (main course that is).good luck

  2. No!  Unless of course you are trying to kill it.

Here is a video that explains what to feed it and how.

  3. They are aloud to eat anything, but it doesn't mean they should. x3

As for ham/turkey, they are carnivores...so sure. Go for it. If the bits are tiny...

  4. I would not feed it seasoned or smoked meat.

  5. Not a good idea.  Here's a website with lots of great info:

  6. DO NOT feed your flytrap anything other than insects.  In fact, all you really need to feed your flytrap is lots of sunlight and clean water.  If you grow your flytrap outside, and you really should so it can get sufficient light, it will catch all the food it needs on its own.

Try to give your flytrap at least 4 hours of direct sunlight a day and it will be a happy and healthy plant.  You can read more about venus fly traps here:

  7. ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!!! Trust me on this one. The plant has developed enzymes to digest most parts of insects but NOT MEAT!! It is a completely different substance. And you might notice that even after a trap has digested an insect that a carapace (shell) is left in the trap. So you can see that Venus Fly Traps do not have major digestive abilities.

Putting any kind of meat into a trap or even some insects that are too big will cause the leaf to rot and die.

Fly Traps are very sensitive plants. This is the site I resourced when I first started growing them. GOOD LUCK!! :-)
