here is what i find, im playing metal gear 4 and for obtain certain emblems you have to play over 35 hours...

you have to be very bad gamer to finish the game in that time or (because there is not other way) you have to leave your console on, running crazy hours

just imagine that, there is about 650K people that own the game and even worst how many electricity are consumed with no reason

we are gamers and we want to get everything on any game we get but thats a high price to pay and ours ps3 are forced to stay on, cutting the life span of our systems running on DEAD TIME

I love that game, is a very good one but im not gona sacrifice my system and will not gona pay crazy bills because i want all the items of the game

game developers should take action on this, and we as costumers we should not aprove that kind of "game behavior".

  1. Then don't play....

This is a good lesson; there are many things people like doing - flying to a vacation, driving big cars, having really cold houses in the summer, eating lots of meat, etc, etc.

BUT these things all contribute to AGW.

Responsible, caring and mature people will try and balance their lifestyle with the health and the future of the planet and perhaps cut down a bit or power their video games from a wind generator on their roof... no one is going to stop everything - just try and reduce that carbon footprint a little (or a lot!).

Ultimately, AGW is caused by you and me - individuals. Not politicians, oil companies, Al Gore, crazy scientists... just ordinary people. So it's up to us to do something about it!

  2. That isn't nearly as bad as what is being done to land to acquire resources to produce these games.  Land is being stripped of resources in inefficient ways to produce the consoles.  Then to ship the products the consoles and games (those that have physical cd or cartridge form) are being way overpackaged, contributing to physical waste.

  3. Global warming ( and cooling ) is caused by variations in solar output.  There is no way any video game you're playing is going to have any impact on the sun.

    Play away.
