Are walk in closet doors supposed to open in to the closet our outward towards the room?

inward if they're those HUGE ONES or out \ward if its a basic one

My boyfriend is a homebuilder for the family business so I'm around new houses a lot.  Bedroom doors typically open into the bedroom, closet doors open out into the room, bathroom doors open into the bathroom.

I would think they sure would. If they open in-wards you'd be in the closet? Out wards would be more practical.

I think it go either way but to maximize the use of the closet, they would open into the room, like the entry door.
