  1. No, no water dragons are poisonous, and for that matter, there are only three members of the lizard family who actually are "poisonous". The Gila Monster of the United States, the Mexican Beaded Lizard of Mexico, and the Komodo Dragon (which is also the world's largest lizard) of Indonesia. The Mexican Beaded Lizard and the Gila Monster are both venomous, meaning their bite allows the toxin in their saliva to enter the bloodstream. The Komodo Dragon however is not venomous, because it doesn't inject toxins into the bloodstream. It has a kind of virulent bacteria in its saliva that isn't technically a poison, but it would make you sick if you ingested it.

    hope that helps!

  2. nope

  3. not at all.

  4. NO!  I've been bitten by them enough times to know.  Most of the time they don't even draw blood.  They have very small teeth and their jaws aren't especially powerful as they eat only small prey.  No fangs of course.  [My YA name is actually after my first water dragon, Blade.  We fell in love at first sight.]

The Gila monster and its relative the Mexican beaded lizard are venomous, though also without fangs; they have strong jaws though; and their saliva is venomous.

The Komodo dragon strictly speaking isn't venomous, but its bite is extremely septic, lousy with nasty microorganisms.
