Today, you see the environment in such a way that would make tears fall. Rubbish, literally fills the whole earth! Radioactive materials are left in rivers! Garbage just floats on the rivers! Animals are becoming endangered! The ozone layer is thinning day by day due to gases!

If we are the khalifah (vicegerent) of the earth, then why have we failed on what Allah has entrusted us on, to work and plough and love the animals, to care for the earth?

Aren't we as Muslims, taught that clealiness is part of the Iman? Aren't we supposed to care for what Allah has created for us?

May Allah guide and bless us all.

  1. As Salaam to you all,

If we look at all so called Islamic countries you will see more filth and debris around than within the West. There is no collective Islam but rather a lot of single individuals following their own particular brand of ideology, taught to them by their fathers. We have no Ummah and as such have lost the right to call ourselves the vice-regent of this Earth.

It also shows the level of our commitment to Allah (SWT) and how we have failed Him, in following His words from the Glorious Qur'an. It is man who has set the boundaries of land separating one group from another and have called it by the name of their country. No land belongs to any individual man, ruler or family, so who gives them the right to say who should or should not live in a particular area.

We can actually say that rubish breeds even more rubish and that even includes our beliefs as well. Do you lead by example by picking up what you see and put in the waste bins, or do you just pass bye?

Lastly, if we include biddah within our faith, like rubbish, we put even more biddah into our belief.

    Wa Salaam

  2. Agreed.

Even during battle the Prophet (sa) forbade the destruction of any crops, trees, natural beauty, animals, homes, or any non combatants.

I beleive there is a Hadeeth that says that the entire Earth is a Masjid.  Would we dump garbage in a masjid?  Certainly not.

love for all, hatred for none

  3. I think, yet, we are not the perfect vicegerent. However, we have to start from ourselves. Just stick with some good rules to behave in the environment and you can teach others (especially children) to do the same...

002.030 Behold, thy Lord said to the angels: "I will create a vicegerent on earth." They said: "Wilt Thou place therein one who will make mischief therein and shed blood?- whilst we do celebrate Thy praises and glorify Thy holy (name)?" He said: "I know what ye know not."

    Al-Qur'an, 002.030 (Al-Baqara [The Cow])

Didn't the angles say that we were bloodshedders

I think the sole reason is that we Muslims are faaaaaaaaaaaaar away from Islam and Quraan
