Are we all gonna die in 2012?

im not sure if anybody has heard about this. but there is that thing going around that the world is gonna end in 2012. i dont wanna say i belive it but i kinda do. im stressing out about this a lot everytime i think about it i get really sad. what do you guys think?

  1. no one on this earth knows when the world is gonna end its impossible for any one to know when the world will end. God knows but if you are a believer then it will be the happiest day of ur life so dont sweat it u cant live everyday thinking about tomorow. (i used to be the same way :-)


  2. This is actually a common misconception.

    The rumor that the world will end in 2012 is often stated to be a prophecy from the ancient Mayans.  In actuality, the date is only the time that ONE of the calenders that the Mayans used will be reset to 0, the equivalent of our year going back to January 1 after December 31.  The Mayans never wrote anything about any Apocalypse that relates to this date, and everything that you have heard about this is nothing more than wild speculation of people wishing to make a few quick dollars by selling books about "The End Of The World".

    This date is the end of the cycle that an ancient calander used.  Nothing more.

  3. Haha-- I'm with you. I don't really believe it, but still-- in the back of my mind...

    Lol, darn those Incas! I guess if nothing else, it's a good incentive to live life to the fullest.

    Edit: Oh, also-- I don't know how you feel about Sylvia Brown, but she says she can see the future all they way up to the year 2100, or something like that. So depending on your view of her, that might be reassuring.

  5. No.  The tale is pure hokum, based on the minor fact that the Mayan calendar rolls over one of its cycles in 2012.  This is about as significant as your wall calendar rolling over on Jan. 1.

    but they say that we will die because the world is supposed to be really chaotic and manic from 2012-2016 and then the population of the world is going to decrease incredibly. i don't know something like how everyone is going to loose their homes and their jobs their cars money, and so on, and there's going to be like 15 families living per house, and there's going to be more cases of murder and rape, etc.. but yeah. when they say the worlds going to end they are speaking figuratively. its an expression.  

  7. I think everyone is going to commit suicide in 2012 because they do think the world is going to end and they don't want to see if it really does. And only me and other people like me will survive through the blowing up of the planet and then all of civilization will rely on me and my fellow people.

  8. The origins of this paranoia is that, since the Mayan calendar will officially "end" on December 21, 2012, the world will end as well in a catastrophic cataclysm. However, most Mayan scholars consider this to be a misinterpretation.

The world was going to end when Russia hit us with a bomb.  The world was going to end when Y2 arrive.  The world was going to end a week ago when they turned on the PA.  But we still live on.  XD  Even if the world will end, what's the use being so scared of it?  It's inevitable.  Enjoy life while you have it.  Don't ruin it by staying locked in your house because something MIGHT happen.  It reminds me of that movie where this family locks themselves up for 20 (or was it 30?) years because they believe Russia will drop a bomb, and so when they finally come back up out of the bunker, it turns out all is well.  XD

  10. No one can predict such thing . some would die before , it is beyond human ability to predict or estimate that . the end of the world is hidden from us for certain reasons ,do not waste ur time thinking and getting worried just spend ur time being good person .


  11. Yes, everyone on Yahoo Answers has heard about it 50 times per day for the last year or so. It has just as much validation as all the previous "end of the world" predictions that have come about for the last 10,000 years or so. And for the record, none of the "end of the world" predictions of the last 10,000 years or so has come true, so why in the heck would you think this one will? Get real.

  12. remeber how people though we were gonna die on the date 6-6-6 well they were obviously wrong because the number of the beast is not actually 666 its really  999 because when that guy from the bible was looking at the number he was looking at it upside down and the devil really meant 999 because he upside down.  but 2012 could very well be it for us too.

  13. well no one knows when there going to die it could be tomorrow or 50 years from now no one can predict when the world is is gonna end. Don't let it bother you and live a good life. :)

  14. Some of us will, but no more than in any other given year.  It's just that the Mayan calendar ends that year and so people see all kinds of dreadul and dire things. Our calendar ends too; once a year, and then guess what--it starts again!

Actually there has been many studies showing that the theory could be true.  The Mayans calendar shows that the world will end in december 2012 and also there is this other guy from the 15th or 16th century...i don't remember his name...that has a journal type thing that also says that the world will end around the same time...his study is a little more extensive and gives the exact hour...the strange thing is that this guy also predicted the bombing of the twin towers...he does it in a way where they aren't just coming out and saying it for the twin towers he said that two steel birds will crash into twin brothers on a significant day that will be remembered in history.

    I don't know if that helps or makes you more worried.

  17. no one knows if we will die then because know ones when god coming for example your like pizza and we think she still wants pizza until she says i want ice cream the point is that we don't know every thing god changes mind on what he wants to do

  18. There is no date on when we're going to die. It could happen tomorrow,you never know when this will happen. You just have to wait til that time comes. But until then don't stress over it,it won't help the situation if you do that.  

  19. we dont know the exact time or dates to when the world will come to an end.but we all know that we are living the book of revulations now! so its hard to tell how long it will be.just have your heart in the right place and you will not have to worry.

  20. the world will not end in 2012... its a myth. the world will probably end in more then billions of years or when the sun explodes. but we all can make the help the planet and the creatures on it by recycling, turning off lights, carpooling, sleeping with the tv off, brushing your tv with the water off, washing your cloths at one time, and resusing the bottle of bottled water. there are so many ways to help the earth last longer! and dont get sad!

    No! I've never heard of such a thing! It's not like every other question in mythology and folklore concerns it!

    Okay lemme let you in on a little secret. People have been predicting the end of the world for CENTURIES. The only reason this prediction is credible is because it's still in the future. Honestly, that's not good verification that it's likely to happen. So stop stressing yourself out, and next time you ask a question, please make sure it hasn't been answered before. I'm tired of having to explain the idiocy of end of the world predictions.

  25. Im not gonna be rude about it. Remember 2000?? They said everything in the world was goin to stop working because it wasnt advanced enuff. Well its juss like that. I personally dont thing we're going to die.

  26. My teacher said that this guy was freaking out saying the minute it turns 2000 we all are going to die and was passing out flyers about praying with him at the last minutes of our lifes.  He took the flyer, wrote to call him on new year's day.  =) He did not but still~~!  

    There is now proof that anything will stop our existence on that day.  The Mayan tribe just calculated that.  They were precise on moon cycles and stuff like that, but there is no evidence that that is our Dooms Day.  We will die when the Sun resides in a few million years into a... oh what was it...?     Ours is a Giant, but not a super giant and is now residing into a white dwarf and will hit that stage in many many years.  Millions.  You are safe.  Global warming may kill us first in a thousand years, but only your great great great.... grandchildren will be the ones to go through the horrific experience ^_^'

  27. nope my uncle is an expert the chinese calender and the mayan calender are very similar some even say they were the same culture which they actually were and they didnt predict end of the world they predicted **** nothing zero c**p. nothing is predicted the calender just ended yay! lol nothing will happen and how will it theres no solar alignment in 2012 or meteor or anything so on december 21 2012 just sit back and realx and enjoy every day cuz ull live and you will at least see 2013

  29. if it's gonna happen then its gonna happen. why stress over something you cant control. the way the world is, I wouldn't doubt it. I guess what I'm saying is you need to live your life while your life is still going. Be worried about you and yourself. If you have lived life good, happy and right, then you have no worries? Are you a good person, have you done things the right way? Don't stress over it. Just live and if it happens it happens. Seems like your afraid to die, but don't be. Don't think of it, just live your life to the fullest!

    yes, there is a theory that the world will end in 2012. its related to the myan civilisation- somehting to do with the end of their calender.

    no one on here can tell you if its true or not. personally i dont think so. remember the fuss made about the technology related thingy in 2000?

    I dont mean to scare you, but the world could end any minute. Right now, after you finish reading this. no one knows. thats why we should all live our lives to the fullest. stop getting so upset about this. if its true, do you want to spend your last few years freaking out???  

  31. i dont think so because one of the calendars said that we would die in 2000, but that didn't happen. if you believe that you will die in 2012, then tell everybody that you love that you love them everyday and try to do nice things for others.
