Are we becoming too lazy and impatient?

Are we as Americans becoming too lazy and impatient?

Here are some ways I think we can be impatient:

-When we're at the grocery store and ready to pay, we look in every line to see which is the shortest and which has the emptiest carts.

-If we have to wait too long for a table at a restaurant, we go somewhere else, even if it means a restaurant we don't like or fast food.

-If we're buying clothes and we know we don't have enough money, we charge it because we don't want to wait before buying the clothes.

-If we want to use the phone or computer and someone else is using it or we're letting them borrow ours and we think they're taking too long, we yell and scream, rushing them.

Here's some ways I think we're lazy:

-If we don't feel like cooking, we order something, even if we have to order something we don't like.

-If we don't feel like driving, we'll order delivery, even if the restaurant is on the same street as us and delivery is expensive.

-If we can't find the TV remote and we already sat down, we ask someone else to change it whenever they walk by.

-If we need to buy something and don't feel like going out, we order it online, even if it costs more money.

These are some ways I think we're lazy and impatient. Tell me, do you agree? Do you have any other ways we're lazy or impatient?

  1. all of this is true lmao

    we are lazy and impatient

  2. Very true.  Modern Western society has offered the luxury of choice and convenience to the point that its population believes such things are entitlements.  We have also come to view time as a commodity that needs to be saved as much as possible for ourselves.  We are so conscious of having more time to ourselves, that anything that might (real or perceived) shorten waiting time will be pursued.  Laziness is a byproduct of that as well.  We want to expend our efforts on other pastimes, other than the meial tasks of making dinner, shopping, etc.  Come to think of it, that is a pretty sad state of society!
