  1. We no longer use horse and buggy, we no longer walk everywhere. Cars should eventually evolve or go away

  2. I was just mouthed at on here by a t**t who slagged off SUV's and called people who drive them ***** and would laugh if one tipped over (even if there are casualties) . Just for being so angry, I am going to buy a Range Rover, a new Discovery and a tractor that runs on smoke from h**l itself and run them everyday even if it costs the earth. I don't like people who start on me or try to bully me. Thanks for that!

  3. well what i can comment on this is  - you can see many other thechologies in terms of new gases coming which eventually take over the petrol. CNG, LPG, Hydrogen (upcoming) all are the set examples for this. many people are already moving to CNG which is already a cheap option then petrol and once the availablity of CNG becomes more you will see more cars turning on to this fuel option :)

  4. Cars will always be around. What we run them on will evolve. In 20 years, instead of all cars running one fuel, gasoline, cars will run on a dozen different technologies.

  5. No we're not going to have to get rid of our cars, they might not look like they do now or be powered as they are now.

  6. I think hydrogen will take over eventually because it is the best technology that produces no emissions.  It sucks now but in the end it might save the planet from global warming.

  7. Yes

  8. Yeah-you first.

Do you honestly think its going to come to that? No its not.

  9. Sooner or later I am sure there will be something different but, it will be a while. In all reality if people didn't rely so heavily on expensive materilistic things just to get along in a commercialistic and capitalistic society, we would be a lot more free.

  10. I think that eventually yes we will have to get rid of our cars and start using water. Gas is destroying the ennviorment anyways.

  11. Those of us with small cars will be able to use them with higher petrol prices than those who got oversized cars.

But either way, we probably aren't going to be getting rid of cars unless something better comes along (and mass public transportation in cities with low population density is not something better, nor are bicycles, nor is the horse and cart (which those of us who know of the environmental problems of them are glad to see become "for entertainment only")).

Whatever happens you'll probably eventually need to replace your current car but it'll wear out anyway (and you should be able to get a decade of use out of it) so you might end up getting an electric car or a hydrogen car or whatever ends up replacing oil.

It's also possible that we'll just end up making our own oil instead of digging it out the ground or growing it on land that should be used for growing food (both of which are currently done) in which case existing vehicles could be used without modification (and would also become eco-friendly, even Hummers).

Another possibility is Personal Rapid Transit which may replace cars (and even solve the traffic congestion problem as well as the environmental problem) although that hasn't been done yet so the theory still needs testing.
