Question:

Are we getting a little crazy with this Global Climate Change theory?

...because that's exactly what it is....a theory. Every time one of their "facts" gets debunked, the Global Warmers change their tune. Remember, it's now "Global Climate Change."

Can't was just all agree to do these 3 things:

*don't pollute.

*recycle.

*pressure our car makers to build better cars.

Other than that, the earth will take care of itself while Al Gore gets filthy rich investing in carbon footprint companies.

  1. Unfortunately those unfamiliar with science equate "theory" with "unproven".  Many prey on the gullible as a result.  Yes those things should be done, but they are easier said than done.  Then we have at least a century's work to repair the damage already done.

  2. I do agree on your 3 points but I don't agree that it will be enough.

"A theory" is actually a very strong argument in the scientific world. This site describes it very well: http://www.notjustatheory.com/

Quote from the site: "In fact, if there was a hierarchy of science, theories would be higher than laws. There is nothing higher, or better, than a theory."

(The discussion is about Evolution, but the term theory is described very well.)

  3. "don't pollute"

yeah, and you call the GW people crazy.

  4. I agree, but what is most scary is that they are teaching Global warming as a fact in public schools to young children. They even have cartoons that push the global warming agenda. Our youth are being deceived in many ways, Global warning is just the most obvious way.

Read my blog at garyganu.blogspot.com  post a comment and tell me what you think.

Sedagive: All ex-presidents become wealthy off of their name. I don't think that Bush's motives stem from greed,. Besides, Bush buys the Global warming theory, hook, line and sinker. How come people who suffer from Bush derangement syndrome must bring him into every argument?

  5. G.W. Bush is the only one I've heard call it Climate change, and to answer your ?, NO YOU FOOL, we are not going too crazy over it, in fact we're not crazy enough about it.

It's not possible to be alive and "not pollute"

    You can't recycle everything

The only "pressure" our car makers will respond to is the pressure of gov. regulations which are woefully lacking.

What is a "carbon footprint  company"? That phrase makes no sense.

  6. AGW is unproven theory, period.

As such it should not be taught as fact and used to indoctrinate our youth.

Enviro fascism is the real threat.

  7. I think Global Warming is very serious. I believe people are the ones destroying the world and also think what ever they come up with to get it in peoples heads that we need to take care of the world we live in, they should .If everyone realized that our earth is just like our bodies, that we need to feed the earth the right foods and clean the earth just as we do our own bodies then maybe it wouldn't be so bad.

  8. Actually, it appears that you have confused the common understanding for the scientific understanding of the term, "theory." In common parlance, a theory is a speculative explanation, much like an opinion...and well, one opinion is about as valid as another. However, this is what is known in science as a hypothesis. And, generally speaking, most hypotheses, like opinions, are pretty much relative.

But, in order for a hypothesis to become what in science is understood as a theory, there must be adequate evidence to demonstrate that that particular hypothesis offers the best explanation for the phenomena taking place.  In other words, whereas the common understanding of the term, "theory," is speculative; the scientific understanding of the term, "theory" requires evidence.

Global Warming has passed just that requirement. There is more than sufficient evidence to demonstrate that Global Warming meets the scientific criteria to go from being a mere hypothesis to being accepted as a valid theory. Unless, of course, you want to dispute gravity...that too is a scientifically valid theory. In science, theories require evidence; global warming has more than enough evidence to qualify.

  9. You suggested

*don't pollute. We have to pollute.  It is a process of life.  We cannot live without producing waste products. Many of our waste products are required for other things to live (i.e. plants).  We cannot drive a car, warm our house, or produce goods that make our life more comfortable and convenient.  We should minimize our pollution to a practical level.

*recycle.  We should recycle when it makes economic sense.  There is a myth about available land fill.  If you do the math, you will figure out soon enough that the volume of our pollution is miniscule compared to available disposal areas.  We should still do what we can to minimize it becasue noone wants a landfill in their backyard.

*pressure our car makers to build better cars.  The price of gas will put all the pressure that is needed IMO.

  10. your are right

  11. The LAW OF GRAVITY IS A THEORY?????

Where do these nuts come from?  These imposters don't know one single solitary thing about science!!!!

Someone needs to go back to the basics and look for Newton's Law...  There are probably hundreds of books and none of them titled Theory of Gravity......

  12. The worst offender is David Suzuki- he has called for the jailing of politicians who refuse to believe the global warming myth, and recently he produced a rather chilling (no pun intended) TV commercial where he encourages children to rat out their parents.  It is pretty obvious that the enviro movement is motivated by fascist impulses.

  13. Not only is AGW just a theory it is a highly speculative theory.

Global warming researchers are trying to demonstrate how it would be plausible that CO2 could cause significant global warming.  If they could demonstrate that it is even remotely likely that CO2 can cause significant climate change, the world would take notice and start doing something about it (and I don't mean Kyoto because no government changed their policies because of Kyoto).

As it is, the best information we have is that it is not even remotely likely that CO2 is causing significant climate change.

To all those believers who say that a theory means almost certain - you will believe anything that your faith requires of you.

  14. No

And it is not a theory but a fact supported by more research than you'll ever be able to read in your entire life.

Believing in Global warming is no more a belief than it is to believe that tornadoes, the moon, and the tides exist.

In science Theories that over time have proven to hold true become laws. It is no mere theory that the world has continued to warm. This is not in dispute.

It is also not in dispute that people alone with their lifestyles emit GHG (Green House Gases). So it is really a no brainer than mankind influences his/her environment.

The real question you should be asking yourself is, by just how much?

  15. Evolution and gravity are also theories.

It's not "now Global Climate Change."  Humans cause global warming.  Global warming causes global climate change.  They're 2 seperate things.

But yes, I do agree that we should all do those 3 things.

  16. Yep - think of the Gaia principle - the earth's looked after itself this long.....  Does "Global Climate Change" include cooling, cos it depends who you listen to.....  Could be another ice age round the corner...(oh, sorry, that was the 1970's worry, wasn't it..?)

  17. It's not just a theory. It's now been proven.

Yes we can do those 3 things. But don't.

How will Gore get filthy rich?

It's not like he is the president of the USA and his family is getting filthy rich from massive oil wells. Or has strong business ties with the very family that attacked our country on 9/11.

If Al Gore gets rich off of making the earth a bit healthier for us all, then fine with me.

It's a lot better than the guy we have in office right now getting filthy rich off of the already high oil prices we have to pay.

If that's the worse thing that Al Gore is doing...... so be it.

At least he's trying to make a change for the better..

    unlike Bush.

  18. Yeah. And the earth is flat.
