1, 10, 100 million years from now, Are we going to evolve into something else (if we're still around) or have we reached the last stage, if such thing even exists in terms of evolution?. Thanks!

  1. The planet has a built in death defence similar to the fight or flight defense. When an animal's life is threatened, it's brain releases endorphins which prepare it for death, it's these same endorphins which are rushing through your body when you actually die, it's the reason people see the light at the end of the tunnel. We are at an epoch now which is threatening all life on the planet earth. It will reach a pinnacle and the planet will responde by complex deconstruction. It will then devolve and return to it's original state. But seriously, your guess is as good as mine, just thought I'd throw that out there.

  2. We will lose our little toe on both feet.

  3. It is very likely that we will evolve. As you probably know, evolution is caused by the random combination of genes, some of which are better than others. Sometimes, the gene combination gives the individual better characteristics than other, therefore making the invividual more suited to its environment. It will therefore be better at surviving, and therefore reproduce more. It's gene combination will have a better chance of beig passed onto its children. These children will coninue to pass on the genes until they dominate their envorinment. This is evolution, and is why it is probable that humans WILL evolve.

  4. I think we have the possiblility to evolve more. We still have vestigial organs, such as the appendix, tail bone, body hair, and wisdom teeth. People are being born without wisdom teeth, which points toward evolution in that direction. Also, humans aren't fully evolved to walk upright. The way our organs are arranged in our midsection and the fact that we get hernias is evidence for that.

The three basic mechanisms for evolutionary change--natural selection, gene flow, and genetic drift--are there, but there are other problems that may hinder evolution, such as how we pick our mates now. When humans first began evolving, they looked for mates that were the most fit to survive and to help them survive, and those were the traits passed on to their children. It had nothing to do with love and the romantic notions many cultures base it on today.

  5. think we will evolve, especially with global warming happening. I don't think it will eventually kill us, I think we will start to evolve.

  6. The one lesson I  have learned from Darwins "Origin of Species" is that if humans are to be around in the distant future, our species HAS to evolve. To not do so would mean our extinction. The good news is that man is the most adaptable species on this planet, able to exist if not survive anywhere on the globe.. (Been to the moon too...)

  7. NO.

  8. i think we might evolve
