Are we going to have a new Cold War with Russia again?

Question

Doesn't it look that Russia is going to kick America. Our economy is so bad, so that we can't have another war. We can't even have an ideological war.

I think Russia is intrepid and impregnable.

Your impressions of Russia are pretty inaccurate but you're right, the US cannot support another war, financially or in terms of manpower (barring a draft, of course). Elect McCain and ensure Cold War 2!

I personally could see it happening.  Prime Minister Putin and President Medvedev are not happy with how the Georgia situation is going.  I do want to say that this has nothing to do with Bush or McCain or any other political leader in america right now.  As Georgia being a nation that we support we had to say something.  Just as if a nation supported by NATO is attacked, we have to take action.  That's how it goes if we take in a nation just so they wont become nuclear.  Now take view of what is going on now, first Russia is standing their grounds, not only that Russia is now looking for support from China and a few other Asian countries now.  If they were to get a few of the other Communist countries to support them we would be right back into a cold war.  Seems the saying History repeats could be some what true.  I hope we don't go back into a cold war but it is not impossible.  Putin himself is former KGB, hopefully we are not going back in time.

hello i live in the uk a war between the superpowers of the world has been inevible and long overdue, with Russia throwing its weight around in the ex-soviet states and being aggresive towards NATO, and its allies, there is gonna come a time were we will have to fight.  Russia is not impregnable they would have to use conventional military tactics not NUCLEAR weapons if a war occoured which makes them very beatable, they know that they cant use weapons of mass destruction as we would retaliate ruthlessly back at there own people which makes the use of them unthinkable, Russia has been very aggressive towards the European Union over the last 10 years, by controling the gas that flows into europe and threatening to cut the Europeans gas supplys from them, they have angered members of every government in the EU, If America decided to go to war with Russia it would find a lot of Support here in Europe which would share the cost, supplies and a lot of manpower as well as this the european unions forces vastly outnumber the Russians
