  I`m 49 years old and I can tell you that no we are not better off now than 20 years ago. People have no morals or pride anymore. Life is cut-throat now. The governments of the world are more openly corrupt now and do for themselves and not for the people.

There are many aspects to your question..Sometimes, each individual circumstance dictates condition.. As a human race,,discoveries and breakthroughs  will allow medical and inventive aspects to advance the human condition.. Are we in a better condition to be good and fair to each other? We have always been in that predicament..Its the choice of man to ignore or accept that..The human predicament for extinction of ourselves and fellow man,,has never been closer..The elements exist that can annihilate the human race,and man controls these elements..But on a positive note, man can choose to excel in medcal and scientific achievments that could advance humanity and the conditions in the world to improve  the human condition and that of the world.. Everything depends on man,,it can  rely on his selfishness, greed ,and want,,or it can rely on his ability to share, give and promote the well being of the planet and its occupants.. All the choices rely on us !!! Our predicament is better today,,but everyday it all relys on man!!    SOLOMON
